Misuse of Internet and Social Networking and Child Pornology

Image
“Those days were golden”, “we had a blissful Childhood”… and so on are the expressive words spoken by our parents and grandparents. Has the golden days really disappeared from the world? Are today’s children leading bliss less childhood? …… similar are the questions alarming my young parents mind. Are we really leading a healthy lifestyle in this so called modern world with filled with modern gadgets, technology and applications? I am afraid to say that neither we nor our children are safe in this world with sophisticated world. We have shrinking our relations, communication and social relationship by using Internet and social networking. More than adults it is the children below eighteen years were are addicted to internet and social networking and have victims too. Researches conducted through out the world have shown that last year one in four children was sent pictures of people who were naked or having sex. More alarming is that more than 725,000 children have been "insiste

It is also believed that she took birth on this earth to free human beings from suffering and worldly bondage. She composed and sang thirty sweet songs containing the fundamental principles of Sanatana Dharma of Sri Vaishnava. This was sung in the month of Margazhi. My Little Master Chef

All of us for sure have enjoyed playing with cooking set or kitchen set. My mother use to get me the kitchen set sold at Siddharoda math fair in Hubli. Those were made up of clay and could easy break if not handled well. I use to wait for the fair, the Jathara during Shiva Rathri , so that my mother got me a new set for that year. I also carefully preserved the previous years set, as I wanted to have more utensils, as much as my mother had in her kitchen. During our childhood, we faced lots of water scarcity problem, and my mother and brothers used to fetch water and filled the tank and drinking water drums. I was asked to stay at home and play with my toys and kitchen set. COOOL! I played with my friends for hours together. Least bothered about any household problems. It was all mainly handled by my mother and my brothers helped her too. Later, I did notice the clay sets being replaced with aluminum and steel. They were pretty expensive and I did not trouble my mother t

Three Successful Women- whom I salute -- A Poem

Image
Life is not a strait road, Neither a pleasant abode, Its topsy - turvy curve make, The journey of life agreeable. I encountered three brave, bold and beautiful women, Women of courage, discreet, and power within, All underwent the rigorous test of life, Living and digesting it like meek docile wives, Withstanding the harsh abuses from family and friends, And ‘MAN’ just tagged as a label at their name end. Who taught them to be brave? To be bold? To be confident and overcome the challenges of life by challenging the life? It is the inner self of these women, The inner peaceful resting soul, arising in a raised voice, It is the inner positive force gushing out to face the challenges, To welcome, face up to, to stand with upright shoulder, Like a fearless soldier, Let all the pain be felt, smelt, and breathed I alone can do it ‘I can do it’. No more tides of sorrows would wash off my feet, I ascend higher and higher with every beat, Lowering my st

On the seashore with a teacher by his side, He observed the flight of a bird, Suddenly he understood the dynamics of the flight, And a thought eveoked. On that eventful midninght, Huddled with his friends at school, He listened to the commentary on the radio, The British flag was lowered and the Indian flag hoisted, in the Red Fort. The morning paper flashed two photos, One of the position of power, the other of a barefoot Mahatma, Engossed in removing th epain of people Deep within, an understanding dawned, of nobility of life and leadership. To him I attribute my life's statement, as the purpose of my life unfolds. On a dark night, a teary eyed boy, Reprimanded by his father for accepting a gift, Took splace in a mother's bosom, And as she gently s

Endangering Indian Manuscripts

Image
I while reading an article about manuscripts, recollected my grandmother’s narratives of interesting stories, riddles, puzzles, sayings in Tamil called Pazhramuzhi and also about Palm leaf writings. She was a genius, intelligent and of course woman with extraordinary memory. Infact, she learnt or gained knowledge only by listening as she was illiterate. She wanted to go to school and learn but as it was a taboo in those days, especially for girls. In order to please her, her father presented her with a palm leaf written OM on it. She preserved it for long. Her father that is my great grandfather use to recite Ramayam and other Maha kavyam all inscription written on palm leaf. These palm leaf were bundled up and was called a book in those days. The past of Indian culture can be traced in the ancient manuscripts. These manuscripts are the simple historical evidence that have great research value. It is estimated that India possesses more than five million manuscripts. Our ancesto

Significance of Tulasi marriage or Tulasi Vivah

Image
Significance of Tulasi marriage or Tulasi Vivah Tulasi well known as holy basil in English is also known as Manjari, Krishna Tulsi, Trittavu, Tulshi and Thulsi. The 'tulsi' plant or Indian basil is an important symbol in the Hindu religious tradition. The name 'tulsi' means "the unmatched one". Tulsi is a respected plant and Hindus worship it in the morning and evening. Tulsi grows wild in the tropics and warm regions. A Hindu household is considered imperfect without a tulsi plant in the courtyard. Many families have the tulsi planted in a specially built structure, which has images of deities installed on all four sides, and a bay for a small earthen oil lamp. Some even have up to a dozen tulsi plants like a garden forming a "tulsi-van" or "tulsivrindavan”. Tulasi Vivah or Marriage This story of Tulsi forwarded by one of my friends--- Tulasi was devoted to Lord Krishna and wanted to marry him. Unaware of her curse by Lord Ganesha sh

Oh! My sole Betrayer!

Image
I trusted you more than self, I believed you more than self, I considered you more than self, You betrayed me oh! Betrayer! I look around, find every one betraying. Betraying each other, betraying each other. A cow that ran to rescue herself, From wolf fell into the hands of a butcher, Oh! Butcher the betrayer! I look around, find every one betraying. Betraying each other, betraying each other. Ran to save myself from thunder, Took shelter under a ruin temple, Temple collapsed upon, Oh! Temple the betrayer! I look around, find every one betraying. Betraying each other, betraying each other. In a boat rowing to the other side of the shore, Wild wind blowing high, Feared and held boat man, He shook his hand and I fell in the water, Oh! Boatman the betrayer! I look around, find every one betraying. Betraying each other, betraying each other http:/www.poemhunter.com/sphoorthi theatre
